I'm updating all my info and wanted to make sure I am evoking the right interpretation of myself in this blog. I looked up the dictionary meanings of my username to see how others might interpret it.

Secondhand:
-adjective

1.	not directly known or experienced; obtained from others or from books: Most of our knowledge is secondhand.

2.	previously used or owned: secondhand clothes.

3.	dealing in previously used goods: a secondhand bookseller.

–adverb

4.	after another user or owner: He bought it secondhand.

5.	indirectly; at second hand: He heard the news secondhand.

Most of my knowledge of culture comes from others or from books or videos. I did not grow up in certain conditions, but I empathize, I appreciate, and I seek to learn more.

Culturist:
–noun

1.	a cultivator.

2.	an advocate or devotee of culture.

As a culturist I hope to continue learning about different cultures as well as my own. All I have learned and experienced I am able to transmit to others.

There was also an ad link to www.culturism.us which kind of disturbed me. The author of this site promotes the word culturism as the opposite of multiculturism. I don't think these terms are mutually exclusive. The author of this site promotes culturism as the preservation of Western culture. I do agree with this author that individualism in culture is important, but I do not disagree with multiculturalism.

I will keep my username. It is an adequate representation.
